Update of Dengue cases in Singapore

Posted on20/04/2020

Dengue continues to be a public health concern, with high cases around 300 to 400 cases per week. The dengue cases as of April 2020 is nearly 5,800 with 5 deaths. The total number is expected to exceed 2019’s 16,000 cases in 2020.

Homeowners should frequently check for possible mosquito breeding sites such as pails, flower pot plates and containers. Even a 20 cents sized drop of stagnant water in homes can breed mosquitoes. NEA also issued advisories on April 3rd to remind construction site operators to maintain proper upkeep to stop mosquitoes from breeding.
